Surface Design Techniques (SOLD OUT)

Sundays, September 15, October 20, & November 10, 2024 | 9A - 12P | 3 sessions | $300

In this three-part workshop, learn various methods of decorating the surface of greenware.

The first session will focus on different ways of adding color to the surface of greenware, including monoprinting, slips, underglazes, and transfers. The second session will focus on different ways to add texture, including creating rollers and stamps. The final session will be a discussion of different ways to use and integrate colored clay.

Students are encouraged to bring their own greenware–soft leather hard to leather hard is perfect! We will also have slabs available to use, and pots can be made during class for decoration in later sessions. Students are encouraged to come with ideas as well as a willingness to experiment!

A discount is available for students who are concurrently taking another 6-week pottery class. Email hello@craftstudies to inquire before registering.

Supplies: Clay is not included with registration and must be purchased through the Supply Shop.
