Participants will learn how to cut & use various kinds of tesserae, use of proper adhesives, design/layout and grouting. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of materials and will complete a small intro tile in addition to a 2-D project of their own design during the class. Students will be encouraged to experiment with color and texture to begin to discover the possibilities of mosaic. All materials, supplies and use of tools are provided. Come experience the endless possibilities of this beautiful art form!
Students are encouraged to bring tiles, glass, beads, broken china, or any other interesting objects they may wish to add to a mosaic.
Students should wear old clothing and bring: apron, cotton rags for cleaning, & sturdy kitchen gloves for mixing & spreading grout.
