We will do flush settings, which is setting stones flush with the metal for a seamless look. Smaller stones flush-set better than larger stones, so 4mm and smaller are best for flush-setting. We will be working primarily in small faceted round gems, 1.5mm to 4mm. We will also discuss modifications on various flush settings . Basic metalsmithing or jewelry skills are necessary for this workshops, even if students only had a basic Jewelry 101 class. Instructor will provide a limited amount of sterling tubing, half round and flat wire, and small faceted gemstones for setting. We will be working in silver.
