Block Print: Capturing Travels

Block printing while traveling can be a great way to experience a new place. It helps you take in the surroundings and notice details you wouldn’t otherwise see. Learn about and practice with materials and techniques you can take with you on your next trip to commemorate and more deeply live in the moment during your travels. Bring your ideas and dreams for where you are going and/or images and impressions from places you have been. Leave with a series of postcards and watercolored block prints commemorating your past or future trip, a series of rubber stamps to use again, techniques to bring art-making with you on your next trip.

Printmaking and the Art of Resistance

Printmaking has a long history as an important form of grassroots activism, as well as being a great way to connect with others and create community. In this workshop we’ll look at some images from social justice work of the past and get inspired to create community by getting the message out about causes we believe in. We’ll design and create postcards and learn techniques that can be used to make posters, t-shirts, zines, buttons, stickers and more.

Block Print: Ornaments
Sunday, November 17, 2024 | 1 - 4P | One-day workshop | $75
Print and make your own holiday ornaments. Design and carve a stamp to create beautiful 3D ornaments. You can use your ornaments to decorate a tree, a window, or you can even fill them with treats for a homemade Advent calendar. You’ll leave class with a few ornaments and a block you can use to create more at home.

Get into the Halloween spirit with Block Print: Spooky Garland! You'll carve your own spine-chilling stamps to create a festive garland. Learn the basics of block printing, from design and carving to inking and printing. Take home your custom-carved stamps and a unique Halloween garland to add an eerie touch to your decorations.
